Our Mission

At Lighthouse Louisiana our mission is to empower people with disabilities through services, employment and advocacy.

We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization located in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA creating positive change for people with disabilities. Founded over a century ago, Lighthouse Louisiana provides people with disabilities an opportunity to succeed.

Services offered to children between the ages of 0 – 13 years, and their families, ensure that developmental milestones are met, and as the child grows, emphasis is equally placed on academic and social development.

Services offered to youth between the ages of 14 – 22 years help these students and young professionals become more independent and prepare for future success in a sighted world.

Certified vision rehabilitation therapists instruct adults who have lost their sight later in life. Clients are able to relearn skills that help them achieve their goals for continued independence.
